How do Bluetooth trackers work?

Bluetooth trackers work by utilizing Bluetooth technology to establish a connection between the tracker and a smartphone or other compatible device. These small devices are typically attached to personal belongings such as keys, wallets, or even pets. When the tracker and the connected device are within range, they communicate with each other using low-energy Bluetooth signals. The tracker sends out a signal that is picked up by the connected device, allowing the user to track the location of the item. If the item goes out of range, the connection is lost, and the user is notified.

A tracker will connect to an accompanying app on your phone via Bluetooth the first time you set it up and then maintain a connection to your phone for as long as it is in the connection range (usually around 60 meters / 200 feet). You can make it ring by pressing a button in the app on your phone.
