What is the difference between SCART to HDMI and HDMI to SCART?

SCART to HDMI and HDMI to SCART are two different types of converters used to connect devices with different video and audio interfaces. SCART to HDMI converters allow devices with SCART outputs, commonly found in older analog televisions and VCRs, to connect to HDMI inputs on modern digital displays. On the other hand, HDMI to SCART converters enable devices with HDMI outputs, such as gaming consoles and DVD players, to connect to SCART inputs on older analog devices. The main difference lies in the direction of conversion and the compatibility between the input and output interfaces.

The two interfaces are capable of transmitting both audio and video. However, SCART cables can handle analogue audio and video signals while the HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) supports uncompressed video data and compressed or uncompressed digital audio data.
