Un appassionante progetto utilizza il Raspberry Pi per creare una macchina della fortuna interattiva chiamata Voltara. Con un design simile a quello della famosa cabina Zoltar, questa macchina stampa fortuna su richiesta premendo un pulsante rosso. Utilizzando un Raspberry Pi 4 e una stampante termica, è possibile personalizzare i messaggi da stampare. Un esperto di robotica, Kevin McAleer, ha deciso di utilizzare il nostro SBC preferito, il Raspberry Pi, per alimentare la sua macchina per la lettura della sfortuna personalizzata, Voltara, condividendo molti dettagli interessanti nel suo ultimo video che mostra tutto il duro lavoro.
Un progetto interattivo
Secondo McAleer, l'idea dietro questa macchina era quella di costruire qualcosa di interattivo con cui le persone potessero giocare all'Open Sauce - una convention con sede a San Francisco che presenta molti maker della community Pi e non solo. Questa macchina per la lettura della sfortuna si è rivelata la combinazione ideale di creatività e utilità che sicuramente susciterà l'interesse dei fortunati partecipanti che avranno la possibilità di premere il grande pulsante rosso.
Il funzionamento della macchina
Il funzionamento del lettore della sfortuna è piuttosto semplice. La scheda principale che alimenta l'operazione è un Raspberry Pi di dimensioni standard. È alloggiato all'interno di un cabinet progettato con una finitura di lusso e una scatola di vetro, molto simile al cabinet Zoltar del film. Un pulsante è posizionato in modo prominente sulla parte anteriore che, quando premuto, farà sì che una stampante per ricevute produca una previsione casuale.
Personalizzazione e creatività
In questo esempio, McAleer sta utilizzando un Raspberry Pi 4, ma potresti tranquillamente optare per qualcosa di più piccolo, come un Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W, al suo posto. Il pulsante utilizzato per richiedere la previsione è un pulsante da sala giochi, il che è appropriato dato che si tratta di replicare un cabinet da sala giochi. La stampante per ricevute è una stampante termica, quindi non devi preoccuparti di sostituire l'inchiostro, solo della carta termica.
Creatività illimitata
Con un progetto del genere, puoi facilmente creare il tuo database di previsioni o messaggi da cui il Pi può scegliere. Nel video dimostrativo, McAleer sta utilizzando un programma Unix chiamato Fortune progettato per creare messaggi utilizzando una tabella esistente di vari messaggi e citazioni.
